Fontrailles, a small commune, is near Trie sur Baise in the Hautes Pyrenées department. Our nearest large town is Tarbes which is on the Greenwich meridian, due south of London.
The area is served by several airports and is just off the brilliant French motorway system.
The full range of the High Pyrenees is within a short drive. Spain is only 75 minutes away and with the local ‘bastide’ towns, Lourdes and the many attractions in the area, there is always something to do. Toulouse, Bordeaux and the Atlantic coast are easily accessible for day trips.
So many small gites are within large complexes, offering little respite from other people’s activity. We have only the this 1 gîte.
Tuquet is an island of calm. You can sit in the garden and not hear another human being! Our road is a cul de sac with only 2 houses, so there is very little traffic.
We hope the photo of the Pyrenées above, taken from our property, will be enough to wet your appetite and persuade you to scroll through the rest of our web site.
The gîte has been designed ‘Just for 2’ and there are no other holiday properties here to spoil your holiday.
We know you will enjoy a peaceful stay in this rural location. All the facilities you need are in the nearby town of Trie sur Baïse (2.5km). The Pyrenées and the wide outdoors are on your doorstep and there is plenty to do throughout the area. Lourdes and Spain are within easy driving and shouldn’t be missed.
